Gutter Cleaning in Haymarket & Gainesville
Twice-yearly maintenance. Two-story homes, heavily wooded properties, HOA-aware standards.
Gutters are the most-forgotten part of a property until they back up, overflow, or sag off the fascia. By then you are dealing with siding stains, foundation issues, and a much bigger bill. Cornerstone Property Care provides professional gutter cleaning and minor gutter repair for homeowners across Haymarket, Gainesville, Dominion Valley, Piedmont, Heritage Hunt, and Evergreen Country Club.
What we handle
- Full gutter clean-out — all debris removed by hand, bagged, and hauled away (we do not blow it into your yard)
- Downspout flushing — verified flowing freely from top to splash block
- Splash block reset — repositioned where they have washed out of place
- Roof debris removal — leaves, sticks, and pine needles cleared from the roof valleys
- Inspection report — we flag loose fasteners, separated seams, or sagging sections before they become repairs
- Gutter exterior brightening (optional add-on) — removes the tiger stripe stains using the same soft-wash chemistry as our house washing
- Minor gutter repair — re-securing fasteners, sealing small leaks, re-attaching downspout sections
When to clean your gutters
For most Northern Virginia homes, the answer is twice a year:
- Spring (April–May) — clear out winter debris, blossom drop, and pollen buildup before summer storms
- Fall (November–early December) — after the leaves have finished dropping and before the first hard freeze
If your property is heavily wooded (most of Dominion Valley, Piedmont, and Heritage Hunt fall into this category), you may need a third visit mid-summer to clear pine needles and seed debris.
Signs you are overdue
- Water overflowing the sides during rain
- Visible debris or plants growing in the gutters
- Tiger striping (dark vertical streaks) on the gutter face
- Sagging sections that have pulled away from the fascia
- Watermarks on siding directly below gutter joints
- Pooling water against the foundation
Why most homeowners stop doing this themselves
Two reasons. First, two-story homes in Dominion Valley, Piedmont, and Heritage Hunt require a 24- to 28-foot ladder, full extension, on uneven ground — and gutter work is the single most common ladder-fall injury for homeowners over 50. Second, doing it well takes longer than people think (typical full-property clean is 90 minutes for a two-person crew). Once you factor in ladder rental or purchase, plus the time, our service often comes out cheaper than the DIY math suggests.
Bundles that make sense
Gutter cleaning combines extremely well with our other exterior services:
- Gutter cleaning + house wash — same crew, same setup, addresses the same algae/debris cycle
- Gutter cleaning + gutter exterior brightening — full restoration in one visit
- Gutter cleaning + fall leaf cleanup — November sweet spot bundle
- Gutter cleaning + Christmas light installation — book together for the fall, no second crew visit
