Fall Cleanup & Leaf Removal in Haymarket, VA

Fall Cleanup & Leaf Removal in Haymarket, VA

Your local leaf crew — owner-operated, based right here in Haymarket.

Haymarket is home base for Cornerstone Property Care. From the big old oaks and maples shading the historic town to the wooded lots off Route 15 and Antioch Road and the communities around them — Dominion Valley, Piedmont, Regency — this is where we live, and fall here is serious: the oldest trees in the area drop the most leaves, and they keep dropping into Thanksgiving week.

We clear the whole property — lawn, beds, hard surfaces, fence lines — and we handle disposal either way you want it, hauled off entirely or bagged to code for your regular pickup. Owner-operated, which means the person quoting your yard is the one doing the work.

Why fall is a bigger job in Haymarket

  • The town’s trees are the area’s oldest. The mature oaks and maples in and around the historic town shed several times what young subdivision trees do — and oak leaves are leathery, slow to break down, and heavy once wet.
  • Wooded lots get forest volume. Homes backing to woods off Antioch Road and Route 15 do not just catch their own trees’ leaves — the forest delivers all season, every wind.
  • Open country wind piles leaves deep. Haymarket’s fields and open stretches let the wind drift leaves two feet deep against fences, foundations, and porch steps — the spots a quick blow-through never clears.
  • Matted leaves cost you in spring. A leaf layer left over winter means snow mold and dead turf patches, tannin-stained walks, and beds full of rotted leaf pack — all more expensive to fix in April than to prevent in November.

What your cleanup includes

Whole-Property Leaf Removal

Lawn, beds, patio, deck, driveway, and walkways — blown out, raked from corners, fence lines, and window wells, and gathered. On Haymarket’s windier lots the drifts against fences and foundations are half the job; we clear them, not just the open grass.

Disposal, Your Way

We either haul every leaf off your property, or bag it all in county-compliant paper yard-waste bags for your regular curbside pickup — Prince William County collects yard waste March through December, and it must be in paper bags or labeled cans, never plastic. In the Town of Haymarket check what your trash service takes; in the county, paper bags only. Unsure? We will sort it out when we quote.

Flower Bed Cleanout & Mulch

Beds raked clear of leaves, and — if you want the spring look locked in early — a fresh layer of mulch before the ground freezes. Leaves matted into beds smother plants and give voles winter cover; clearing them now is cheap insurance.

Hardscape & Patio Protection

Wet leaves wintering on pavers and concrete leave brown tannin stains behind. Every cleanup clears your patio, walkways, and driveway along with the lawn — and if stains have already set in, a surface clean brings the hardscape back.

TIMED TO THE TREES

Why we schedule cleanups late — and sometimes twice

Maples and poplars around here drop in October, but the oaks that dominate our older neighborhoods hold their leaves well into November — some until Thanksgiving. A cleanup done too early looks great for two weeks and then disappears under the second wave. We would rather time it right than sell you a job that will not last.

For most yards, one thorough late-season visit does it. Under heavy canopy we will tell you honestly if a two-visit plan makes more sense — a mid-fall pass so the lawn can breathe, then a final pass after the oaks finish. Leaves left matted over winter mean snow mold, dead turf patches, and tannin stains on your concrete and pavers come spring.

From the historic town to the gates

Haymarket’s housing runs the full range — older homes on generous town lots, newer vinyl and Hardie builds in the subdivisions, and the golf communities behind their gates. We work all of it, and we keep our service area tight to Haymarket and Gainesville on purpose: it is what lets us show up on time, do careful work, and answer the phone ourselves.

If you are in one of the communities, see your page — Dominion Valley or Piedmont — and everything included is on our fall cleanup & leaf removal page.

Haymarket fall cleanup FAQs

When should I schedule a cleanup in Haymarket?

Book by early November. Around the historic town and the wooded lots, the oaks run to mid-to-late November — final passes happen from then into early December, and the calendar fills once the first big drop hits.

I’m outside the town line — do you still come?

Yes. Town of Haymarket, the 20169 area, the communities, and the wooded lots along Route 15 and Antioch Road are all home turf. If you are in Gainesville, we cover you too.

Should I have you haul the leaves or bag them for pickup?

Whichever suits you — we quote it both ways. Hauling means everything is gone the day we finish. Bagging costs less and works well if your trash service collects yard waste; just remember Prince William County requires paper yard-waste bags or labeled containers — plastic bags get left at the curb.

Do you mow or do the last cut of the season?

No — we keep fall cleanup focused on what we do best: leaves, beds, and mulch. If a mowing crew handles your final cut, we are happy to coordinate timing so the cleanup lands right after it.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — locally licensed in Prince William County and carrying $1M in liability coverage. You are protected, and so is your property.
