Fall Cleanup & Leaf Removal in Heritage Hunt

Fall Cleanup & Leaf Removal in Heritage Hunt

The raking, the bending, the ladder work — done for you, the right way.

Heritage Hunt is Gainesville’s premier 55-and-over golf community, and the whole point of living here is to enjoy the season — not to spend three November weekends raking, bagging, and hauling. That is exactly the work Cornerstone Property Care takes off your plate.

We are a local, owner-operated outfit based minutes away in Haymarket. One call and the whole fall job is handled — lawn, beds, and hard surfaces — for single-family homes and villas alike, carefully and without damage to the plantings that make this community look the way it does.

Why fall cleanup is worth handing off in Heritage Hunt

  • It is heavier work than it looks. A full fall drop on an established lot is hundreds of pounds of wet leaves — raked, moved, and lifted. There are better ways to spend a November Saturday, and worse things than a sore back to risk.
  • Wet leaves are a slip hazard. Leaf-covered walks, steps, and driveways stay slick for weeks once the fall rains start — clearing them promptly is about safety as much as looks.
  • Mature plantings trap leaves. Heritage Hunt’s grown-in trees and foundation beds pack full of leaves that smother plants and invite voles if they winter in place.
  • The oaks drop late. Cleanups timed to October’s maples get buried again in November. We schedule to the trees so the job lasts.

What your cleanup includes

Whole-Property Leaf Removal

Lawn, beds, patio, deck, driveway, and walkways — blown out, raked from corners and shrub lines, and gathered. Villa lots are quick; estate lots take longer; either way every leaf is off the property or at the curb when we leave, with nothing left for you to lift.

Disposal, Your Way

We either haul every leaf off your property, or bag it all in county-compliant paper yard-waste bags for your regular curbside pickup — Prince William County collects yard waste March through December, and it must be in paper bags or labeled cans, never plastic. Villa owners usually choose bagging; larger single-family lots usually warrant the haul. We will recommend the cheaper sensible option for your lot.

Flower Bed Cleanout & Mulch

Beds raked clear of leaves, and — if you want the spring look locked in early — a fresh layer of mulch before the ground freezes. Leaves matted into beds smother plants and give voles winter cover; clearing them now is cheap insurance.

Hardscape & Patio Protection

Wet leaves wintering on pavers and concrete leave brown tannin stains behind. Every cleanup clears your patio, walkways, and driveway along with the lawn — and if stains have already set in, a surface clean brings the hardscape back.

TIMED TO THE TREES

Why we schedule cleanups late — and sometimes twice

Maples and poplars around here drop in October, but the oaks that dominate our older neighborhoods hold their leaves well into November — some until Thanksgiving. A cleanup done too early looks great for two weeks and then disappears under the second wave. We would rather time it right than sell you a job that will not last.

For most yards, one thorough late-season visit does it. Under heavy canopy we will tell you honestly if a two-visit plan makes more sense — a mid-fall pass so the lawn can breathe, then a final pass after the oaks finish. Leaves left matted over winter mean snow mold, dead turf patches, and tannin stains on your concrete and pavers come spring.

One call, and the season is handled

You do not need to be home, you do not need to sort out disposal rules, and you do not need to touch a rake. We confirm the plan up front, do the work, and send photos if you are away. Neighbors on the same street are welcome to book together — it makes scheduling easy for everyone.

Most Heritage Hunt homes do well with one thorough visit after the oaks finish in late November, before the first hard freeze. Full service details are on our fall cleanup & leaf removal page.

Heritage Hunt fall cleanup FAQs

Do I need to be home for the cleanup?

No — as long as we can reach the yard, we handle everything and confirm when it is done, with photos if you like. Many of our Heritage Hunt visits happen while homeowners are out or traveling.

What about the leaves on my patio and deck?

They are part of every visit — patios, decks, steps, and walkways get cleared along with the lawn, so nothing is left slick underfoot going into winter.

Should I have you haul the leaves or bag them for pickup?

Whichever suits you — we quote it both ways. Hauling means everything is gone the day we finish. Bagging costs less and works well if your trash service collects yard waste; just remember Prince William County requires paper yard-waste bags or labeled containers — plastic bags get left at the curb.

Do you mow or do the last cut of the season?

No — we keep fall cleanup focused on what we do best: leaves, beds, and mulch. If a mowing crew handles your final cut, we are happy to coordinate timing so the cleanup lands right after it.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — locally licensed in Prince William County and carrying $1M in liability coverage. You are protected, and so is your property.
